The Demolition Derby

On Wednesday August 21, 2011 we went on an outing that Miss Lauren planned for us. We met at the staff apartment to eat a good dinner and it turned out to be my favorite- Jimmy John’s. We enjoyed our dinner then started loading up the vans. Our journey began and 20-minutes later we arrived at the fair. We entered the fair and walked around to explore the rides and to find other fun things to do. We overheard people talking and running towards the bleachers so we followed. Little did we know, the derby was about to start. The show started and there I was going crazy, cheering, and having a blast. Wow, I just loved it!
The engines roared, screamed, and the cars smashed into each other. All in all it was a blast. We finally had enough of the cars, so we all decided to go on a few rides. First in line was the Ferris wheel and then a ride called “The Cliffhanger”, that was my first time to ever get on that ride. What made it interesting and fun was that we had to lie on our stomachs. It was a blast! When that was over, Lauren had more plans for us, the one-and-only elephant ears were next…yummy!! Shortly after the treat, it was time to go. We started gathering up and headed home.
It was an exciting time even though I didn’t list everything we did but trust me we did a lot of things. To end this story, I would like to thank all the staff that participated in planning this fun outing and thank you to my best friend, Lauren!
